Acknowledgements
“This website shows world-class structures created by me - some of them the largest portable structures ever built and many of which have been used for world-class international events. Some of them have been created after I had to tear up the rule book and write my own chapters!
However, one person does not conceive, design, analyse, develop and manufacture world class structures such as these in isolation, but as part of varied teams of talented engineers, architects, designers, installation crews and event organisers who contributed enormous amounts of talent and energy into these projects. This website would not be correct without me acknowledging the result of many thousands of hours by many people in the project teams. Although all of the structures were based upon my design concepts, they were often realised by those talented people. This website gives thanks and appreciation to them, and is a tribute to the structures as they become beings in their own right.
Accredited to Pablo Picasso, one of my favourite quotes is;
“There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who transform a yellow spot into sun.”.
I have tried to work towards this ideal whenever I could.”
